Gulf Shores is located in Baldwin County, Alabama. This community has approximately 10,750 residents, showing a substantial increase from the 2000 census population of only about 5,000 residents. This is the southernmost community in the state, and it is served by State Route 59 which leads to neighboring Foley to the north. A large portion of the eastern part of Gulf Shores is occupied by Gulf State Park. Tourism plays a major role within the Gulf Shores local economy, and beaches, boat cruises, ocean fishing, and golf are major reasons that so many people are drawn to the community. 

Gulf Shores is home to a wide variety of attractions that attract tourists to the area. The temperature of Gulf Shores is quite mild throughout the year. During the winters, average high temperatures in January reach 60 degrees, but average lows can fall to 40 degrees or even cooler. Residents will likely utilize a heat pump or furnace to keep their homes at a comfortable temperature, especially overnight.

By April, high temperatures will be back into the mid-70s, and during the middle of the summer it is quite common for residents to experience 90 degree days .A reliable air conditioning unit is a necessity to stay safe during the hottest weather.
